Geeta Jayanti celebrated with religious fervour

JAMMU, Dec 21: In connection with celebration of Geeta Jayanti functions were held at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi and Gokal Dham Ambica Vihar, Talab Tiloo today.
A large number of people drawn form different parts of the Jammu attended these functions to seek blessings from the saints and also pay their obeisance to the holy book.
Giving religious discourses during the celebrations at Geeta Satsang Ashram, Muthi Swami Kumar Ji said it is 5122th Geeta Jayanti and the holy book is touching every aspect of life. He said Bhagwat Geeta teaches how to live a simple, pure and meaningful life as well as how to become a Karamyogi.  He said Geeta is full of philosophy and it is a reply to all problems in life provided we follow its teachings.
He said Geeta shows the way that how a human being can get freedom from bondages of life and attain salvation.
Besides, Swami Divanand Sarswati Ji Maharaj, Acharya Shiv Rana Ji, Dr Vishver Kumar Shastri, Swami Bhai Ji Maharaj and other saints gave religious discourses on the occasion.
Others who were present on the occasion included Ashok Koul, general secretary BJP, Surinder Ambardar, MLC, Dr R L Bhat, Kashmiri Lal Bhat and N N Koul.
At the function held at Gokul Dham, Swami Gokal Nath Ji gave religious discourses to a large number of devotees and highlighted the teachings of Geeta. He also threw light on the Mahabharta where Lord Krishna gives “Updesh” in the form of Bhagwat Geeta to  Arjuna when he leaves the battle field and does not show any inclination to fight with his kith and kin.
But Arjuna  is so impressed by the “Updesh” of Lord Krishna in the form of Geeta Gyan that Arjuna not only shows readiness to lead the war fought against good over evil but cerates a history by winning it.
He said Bhagwat Geeta touches every aspect of life and spirituality and one who studies it in real sense and follows its teachings will automatically get freed from bondages of life.
