JAMMU, July 1: Holding Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani deaths and destruction in Kashmir for over three decades in league with Pakistan -the epicentre of terrorism Panun Kashmir (PK) today said that seeing the Hurriyat leader has outlived his utility Pakistan snubbed him at the fag end of his life forcing him to quit Hurriyat.
In a meeting here, today which was presided over by Varinder Raina president, PK, it discussed the prevailing situation in the UT of J&K. Among others who attended it included Upinder Koul, general secretary, Kamal Bagati general secretary (Org), Ashok Chrungoo, treasurer, Sameer Bhat convener, PK Youth, S K Bhat, P K Durani, B L Garyali and P K Bhan.
Addressing the members, Varinder Raina, president PK said that Geelani assumed the role of patron of terrorism in Kashmir and is held responsible for death and destruction in Jammu and Kashmir. Though he has distanced away from Hurriyat at the fag end of his life, he can not be absolved of his role in the ethnic cleansing, genocide and forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. He pushed J&K into the madness of terrorism and is responsible for killing of one lakh of people and destruction of entire Kashmiri Pandit properties in the Valley.
Raina said that these are the after-shocks of the will-power shown by the Central Government by way of abrogation of Article 370 and 35A. It has caused cracks in the terror cadres and demoralised them severely. The Domicile Law has further rattled them beyond repair.
Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org) said that the statement of Geelani is an admission of the fact that Pakistan’s support to terrorists is not only limited to their moral support but they are responsible for sponsoring terrorism by men, money and material. It is an open secret that funding to terrorism and involving the younger generations have been routed through the supply chain of drugs in the State. The Financial Action Task Force, the global watchdog group should take cognizance of the facts and revisit its decision and put Pakistan in the Black List immediately. Upinder Koul, general secretary reiterated the demand that a “Special Crimes Tribunal” be constituted immediately and people responsible for the genocide of KPs and other minorities be brought to justice.
Panun Kashmir made an appeal to the KP community members to apply for domicile certificate and ensure that no one is left out.
