JAMMU: Against the backdrop of martrydom of BSF Inspector in cross border firing, Director General BSF R K Mishra on Tuesday said that they have geared up for upcoming Parliamentary elections while the force is also giving befitting reply to the Ceasefire violations by the Pakistan.
“We are strongly retaliating to the Ceasefire violations from across the border,” Mr Misra here told reporters at the sidelines of wreath laying ceremony of BSF Inspector, who was martyred on Monday in Poonch.
He further said that situation along international border is calm, adding, “we are on alert along the LoC and responding effectively to the firing.”
The DG also termed targetting of civilians by the Pakistan as unfortunate, adding, “we will also be taking review of weaponary (artillery) used by the Pakistan but we are replying in similar manner.”
A BSF Inspector among three persons on Monday were killed in Krishna Ghanti and Mankote areas of Poonch on Monday. (AGENCIES)
