JAMMU, Dec 25: In order to provide employment opportunities to the local youth of Udhampur at their doorstep under Project Udaan of Govt of India the Placement Unit of Government Degree College (Boys) Udhampur in collaboration with the Future Group organised a Placement Drive, here today.
Prof BC Sharma, Dean Placement, University of Jammu, and Principal of the College Dr Nutan K Resutra, inaugurated the programme. Prof Sharma highlighted the significance of Project Udaan and urged the youth to avail of the opportunities under the project, while Dr Resutra reiterated his commitment to provide all such opportunities to the students of the college that help them define their career.
Earlier, the programme started with a welcome note by Prof Sudhir Singh District Co-ordinator of Udaan.
Around 100 students drawn from the host College and Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur participated in the process of screening that included a written test and group discussion.
23 candidates were shortlisted and interviewed for the final selection for the training.
The results will be declared within a month.
Anil Kalia, Zonal Manager Operations North and Ashok Vashisth, National Head-Compliance and Quality from the Future Group conducted the drive.
