GDC, Thannamandi organized symposium

JAMMU, Dec 18: As a part of National Environmental Awareness campaign the NSS unit of Government Degree College Thannamandi organized symposium on the “Forest for sustainable livelihood”.
Eight NSS volunteers participated in the symposium. Naseer Ahmed, Ms Mavish Shakoor and  Farhad Mir bagged Ist, 2nd & 3rd positions respectively. Prof Tahir Raoof Malik, Prof Perwaiz Ahmed Shah, Prof Mohd Farooq acted as judges.
Earlier the programme started with the recitation of the few verses of the Holy Quran by  Wasit Ali. Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Lone Principal of the college presided over the function and in his address he appreciated the effort of NSS unit of the college for organizing the programme on the topic which is need of the hours.
Vice Principal of the college Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina also spoke at the occasion and gave some tips to the students for preparation of short speeches and said judicious use of natural resources can make everyone’s life comfortable.
The proceeding of the programme wear conducted by Prof Rubina Akhter and the formal vote of thank was presented by Prof Saleem Ayaz Rather NSS programme officer of the College.
