GDC Samba holds Int’l Seminar

JAMMU, Dec 22: Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College Samba organized a one day International Seminar.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional lamp, followed by presentation of mementos to the dignitaries. Prof. (Dr) Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges JK-UT was the Chief Guest on the occasion. She exemplified the Prime Minister’s vision on youth entrepreneurship which is essential for economic growth.
Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr) Twinkle Suri highlighted that the objective of the seminar is to channelize the youth towards progressive and sustainable future.
The keynote speaker, Sonam Lotus, Director MET Centre Leh-Ladakh, in his address shed light on sustainable practices, conservation efforts and the crucial role India can play in Global Environmental Stewardship.
In the first session Noa Muzzafi, Partner and Israel Director of Asia Bridge, from Israel introduced the key terms and companies while fostering a mindset for aspiring entrepreneurs in India. Dr C M Seth, second speaker shared his perspective on the theme and offered a comprehensive view of the challenges and opportunities on the road to a developed India.
In the second session Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Vohra, a noted academician from University of Jammu interacted with the students and involved them in an activity wherein they presented their ideas on the role of youth in the sustainable development of India.
In the third session Prof. Dhan Parsad Pandit, Tribhuvan University, Nepal deliberated upon nurturing Nepal’s Water Resources and the role of youth in the sustainable development goals. Certificates of participation were given to the students from various Colleges of Samba District in the Valedictory session Earlier the College Magazine ‘Basantar’ was also released on the occasion. Prof. Banpreet Kour was the organizing secretary of the Seminar; Dr Joginder Singh presented the formal vote of thanks.
