JAMMU, Jan 14: The Road Safety Club of GDC Paloura in collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Saturday organized an awareness programme on road safety.
As per a statement, Pankaj Badgotra, RTO Jammu was the Chief Guest of the programme organised under the guidance of Principal of the institution, Dr Ashu Vashisht.
It said that ARTOs Isha Chib, Taramani and Motor Vehicle Insepctor Anupam Gandotra also graced the occasion.
Under the programme, a debate competition was held in which students presented their views on road safety rules and other aspect, it said.
College student Rajinder Singh bagged the first prize, while Pallavi Sharma and Tanisha Gupta bagged second and third prizes.
The press statement said that the event was judged by Dr Sapna Sharma, Assistant Professor (Chemistry) and Prof Pooja Sharma, Assistant Professor (Sociology).
A rally of the students was also flagged off by the Chief Guest, Pankaj Badgotra with the slogan “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha” to sensitize the general public about the importance of road safety.
Principal of the College appreciated the efforts of Prof. Vishal Magotra, Prof Kusha Sharma and Prof Vijay Kumar, members of Road Safety Club for organising the awareness programme.
