JAMMU, Oct 20: Government Degree College (GDC) Kunjwani secured the championship title in the Inter Collegiate Volleyball Tournament 2024, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. The victorious team, led by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Manisha Sarup Kohli and supervised by Physical Director Malik Aejaz Iqbal, claimed the Men’s Volleyball trophy by defeating GDC Poonch in a thrilling final match.
Throughout the tournament, GDC Kunjwani displayed remarkable sportsmanship and competitiveness. Star players Mohit Singh, Mohd. Riaz and Ansh Changotra stood out for their outstanding contributions and were awarded for their exceptional performances.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Manisha Kohli praised the team for their hard work and dedication. She highlighted the significance of sports in fostering important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, leadership and accountability. She also encouraged the students to continue participating in sports to enhance their mental alertness, physical fitness, and self-esteem.
The college’s basketball team, also participating in the tournament, was accompanied by Prof. Baljinder Kour, Convener of the Sports Committee, Malik Aejaz Iqbal, and Prof. Shrikant Sharma, who provided constant support and encouragement throughout the event.
