GCW organizes webinar

JAMMU, Sept 15: Govt. College for Women Bhagwati Nagar, organised a webinar on the topic “Understanding Fundamental Duties” to commemorate International Democracy Day. Prof. Shrotika Rajput, Asstt Prof. Political Science, GCW Parade, was the resource person on the occasion who highlighted the importance of democracy in length.
In her session, she urged that democracy is a universal value based on the freely expressed will of people to determine their own political, economic, social and cultural systems.
Principal of the college, Prof. Minnie Sharma, speaking on the occasion raised the general awareness by highlighting the values of freedom, respect for human rights and principles of holding periodic and genuine elections.
The event was attended by the staff and students of the college.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Prof. Nisha Bhagat.
NSS unit of Government College of Education, Jammu organized on online essay writing competition on World Democracy Day. The topic for the competition was “COVID-19. A spotlight on Democracy.” The program was adeptly conducted by NSS Nodal Officer, Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Prof. Shapia Sameem Bhatti, Prof. Sarita Dogra and Prof. Seema Kumari along with volunteers. Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal of GCOE highlighted the importance of World Democracy Day and appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers including Suvidha, Diksha, Charu and Sourab.
