JAMMU, Jan 24: The IQAC cell and M Ed section of Government College of Education (GCOE) , Jammu organised an online Induction.cum – Orientation program for the new students of M Ed session 2021 – 23 .
The program began with a virtual address by the Principal , Dr Kulvinder Kour , who apprised the students that the virtual mode of interaction has now become the new norm and the teachers of tomorrow will have to adapt and become adept in this new norm . She also added that the teachers of tomorrow will bring laurels to the NACC A grade accredited college by becoming skillful in hybrid mode of teaching .
Later on, Dr Rajinder Kour , M Ed Coordinator gave a detailed presentation about the two year M Ed course and the advantages of doing this course. She apprised the students about the credit system , teaching practice and research work that the M Ed students will take up in the coming sessions. She also introduced the entire faculty dealing with M Ed course .
This was followed by a brief introduction of different subjects under M Ed course. In the later part of the program, the new students gave a brief introduction about themselves . The President of M Ed section, Sabhya apprised the students about the different facilities offered by the college as well.
Dr Anuradha Seth , Chief Librarian , informed the students about the online resources and teaching material offered by the automated library of the college . Dr Deep K Bangotra gave a detailed introduction about the ICT facilities provided by the college whereas Prof Shalini Rana told the students about advanced communication skills course and its importance in the current global scenario .
The faculty members who spoke on the occasion, included Prof K K Mangotra and Dr Sushma Bala who apprised the students about Educational Psychology and the importance of studying this subject as a teacher .
In the afternoon session of the program , a detailed round of introduction of fresher’s took place . The program was conducted by Payal while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof Shalini Rana .
