GCET’s long-pending issues

Sir,
I write to express my deep concern regarding the persisting issues at the Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) in Chak Bhalwal, Jammu. The college, established to cater to the educational needs of engineering students after has been grappling with numerous challenges for an extended period. It is disheartening to note that even after decades of existence, GCET continues to suffer from a shortage of permanent faculty, lack of infrastructure, an inadequate canteen, and transportation woes.
These issues not only affect the quality of education but also deter prospective engineering students from considering GCET as a viable option. It is imperative for the Government to step in and address these long-standing problems promptly. A comprehensive examination of the underlying causes is necessary to bring about meaningful change.
We urge the authorities to prioritize the enhancement of GCET, transforming it into a premier educational institution. Only by doing so can we ensure a brighter future for the students and staff at GCET and maintain the standards expected of an educational establishment.
