GCET HoD Maths delivers Extension Lecture

JAMMU, Sept 21: An Extension Lecture on “Application of Calculus in Engineering” for B.E First semester students was organized by the Department of Applied Sciences, YCET, Jammu today.
Dr.Bhopinder Singh, Head of the Department in Mathematics, Government College of Engineering &Technology Jammu was the resource person.
While addressing the young technocrats, he emphasized on the application of Mathematics in the field of Engineering and its scope. He stated that Mathematics is the world if exploring new ideas and making social and professional connections in a stimulating and challenging environment that encourages face to face sharing and learning.
He made the students aware about the latest developments in mathematical education and also inspired them to explore more and more in this world.
“There are umpteen opportunities to partake in the subject,” he said. He taught the students about the simplest methods to solve the numerical problems. Different sub topics like asymptotes’, double point analysis, graphical representation of integrals and definite integral functions were discussed with the budding engineers. The students were benefited by the question answer round where the resource person solved their queries. Around 300 students attended the Extension Lecture in two different sessions.
Dr. Arvind Dewangan, Director YCET welcomed the guest and thanked him for sparing his valuable time to interact with the students. Dr.Sandeep Malik, Dean, YCET, B.R. Verma, Chief Coordinator YCET and R.S. Dalpatia, Deputy Registrar YCET joned the interactive session with their presence
