SRINAGAR, Apr 18: Group of Concerned Citizens (GCC) J&K has expressed shock over the gruesome Gandabal boat tragedy and offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
In a handout the Group also demanded impartial inquiry into the incident to fix responsibility for the mishap and to book the culprits for criminal negligence.
Six persons, including four school going children drowned to death on Tuesday in an incident of boat capsize in Jehlum at Gandabal near Batwara in Srinagar.
The GCC urged the Government to undertake a review of all lingering and languishing projects including public utilities, especially those involving safety and security of the people and provide adequate funding for their completion without any further delay.
