SRINAGAR, Apr 10: The Postgraduate Department of Pediatrics of GB Pant Hospital, Srinagar held a workshop on lysosomal disorders in children here today.
Prof. Madhulika Kabra, Professor Department of Pediatrics, who also Heads the Genetic Division, was the expert on the occasion who spoke on the Genetic disorders among the new born which she said account for a number of diseases and deaths among children.
During the workshop, it was stressed that many such disorders can be diagnosed before birth or immediately after birth and many of these can be treated also if diagnosed early while earlier no treatment was available for the same.
The formation of parent support groups and to support their treatment also came under review during the workshop.
A number of leading Pediatricians across the valley attended the workshop.
