Gaytri, Vishwa, Seema emerge winners in Devotional Song Competition prelims

JAMMU, Oct 8: As part of Navratra festival, All India Devotional Song Competition organized at Katra entered 6th day.
On the occasion, Chander Parkash Ganga, Minister for Industries and Commerce was the chief guest, while Ravinder Kumar DC Reasi, Tariq Naik Financial Advisor Tourism, Neelam Khajuria SDM Katra, Sumir Kotwal Additional SP Katra, Rakesh Wazir Chairman Devotional Song Committee, Ashok Sharma DySP Katra, Jugal Kishore Sharma, DySP, Dr Umesh Shan, Asstt Director Tourism, Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj, Mohit Raina Tehsildar Katra, besides members Devotional Song Committee Shyam Lal Kesar, Sardari Lal Dubey, Virender Kesar, Parbhat Singh etc.
In this preliminary round of the competition, Gaytri Kandley from Jammu was adjudged as first position, while Vishwa Gandharv from Jammu adjudged second and third position was clinched by Seema Jha from Jharkhand. Cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 were given to them respectively.
The competition was adjudged by Dr Usha Bhagati, Ex-HOD, MAM College Jammu, Dr Surinder Sharma, HOD in Government College of Shimla and HG Roy, Retired from Sangeet Natak Academy New Delhi.
Former winner of the competition Vanshika Jaral enthralled the audience with her sweet and melodious voice.
