Gas dealer, petrol pump owner penalized for poor delivery

SRINAGAR, Dec 31: Legal Metrology Department today said it penalized gas agency and petrol pump owners in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district for poor delivery of services.
In a statement issued here, a spokesman of the Legal Metrology Department said: “Prompted by a public complaint that a dealer of LPG is not providing home delivery to some areas of Ganderbal district, the field executives of Legal Metrology Department conducted surprise inspection of the gas agency and found the complaint genuine.”
“The challan case was registered against the dealer for not maintaining records and providing home delivers to its customers. The management of the agency gave an undertaking that they will ensure the home delivery to its customers. Besides this, one petrol pump was also found guilty of indulging in short delivery to the customers and was booked on spot. A penal sum of Rs. 7000 was collected from the defaulters”, the spokesman said.
