JAMMU, May 17: Police in RS Pura area today claimed to have arrested a notorious gangster/criminal with a sharp weapon.
During routine checking of vehicles at naka Chak Mohammad Yar, a motorcycle (JK02DF-2370) heading towards Dablehar was stopping for checking, a police official said.
On being checked, the rider started behaving suspiciously, raising doubt in the minds of the naka party, he said.
Upon personal search of the suspect identified as Manoj Kumar alias Moja, a toka (sharp weapon) was recovered from his possession, added the police official.
According to him, the accused is a dreaded criminal who is already facing 17 FIRs in different police stations of the district.
The police official said that in the current case, the accused has been booked in case FIR number 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up.
