SAMBA, June 5: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga convened meetings at the shrines of Baba Sidh Goriya and Baba Chamliyal to review the arrangements made for the annual mela held at these shrines.
Mela Baba Sidh Goriya at village Swankha will be held on June 19 while Mela at Baba Chamliyal shrine situated near International border at Ramgarh sector will be held on June 23.
The Minister directed the functionaries of R&B to ensure the blacktopping of all major roads connecting the shrines well before commencing of these famous melas. He said that repair and improvement works should also be done for the convenience of the devotees visiting both the shrines. PHE Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted water supply with provision for additional water tankers. Ganga also instructed PDD to ensure proper lighting arrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply at the venue throughout the Mela days.
Stressing on maintaining sanitation during Mela at both the shrines, Ganga said that adequate number of dustbins should be installed at the venues keeping in view the huge rush of devotees visiting the shrines during this annual event.
Ganga asked different departments to establish stalls of their respective departments to aware the visiting devotees regarding the schemes and welfare programmes.
The Minister stressed on synergy among the concerned departments and asked them to ensure that the requisite arrangements are put in place on time for smooth conduct of the Mela.
Ganga also reviewed the security arrangements and preparedness related to Fire and Emergency Services, traffic regulation etc.
Among others District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba Joginder Singh, ADC Pawan Sharma and ACD Tilak Raj Thapa also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Minister released Telephone Directory of Bari Brahmana Industries Association.
Reiterating the Government’s resolve to promote a healthy environment for entrepreneurs to run the units and foster industrial growth in the state, Ganga said that the Government is fully committed to provide all possible facilities to the industrialists, adding that he would personally monitor the growth of all the industrial estates. He urged the industrialists present on the occasion to participate in the development process initiated by the Government and take responsibilities under Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
Ganga urged the industrialists to employ local skilled youth in their units. He said that Government is focusing on skill development of youth by way of providing them skill training in various fields.
On the occasion, the members of BBIA thanked the Minister for reduction in electricity duty, 24×7 clearances of industrial goods at Lakhanpur, implementation of ease of doing business concept in the Industries Department, reduction in pollution control consent fee and exemption to industrial sector from entry tax in respect of material handling equipments.
The members also raised various issues related to industrial growth in the State. Ganga assured the industrialists for redressal of their genuine issues and all possible support to develop the industrial sector.
Among others, Director Industries and Commerce Department Jammu, Rajinder Singh Tara, Director MSME Varinder Sharma, MD SIDCO Amit Sharma, President BBIA Lalit Mahajan, Vice President BBIA Varun Singla, officer bearers of BBIA, concerned officers and industrialists were present in the function.
