JAMMU: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today said that several projects and welfare schemes have been launched by the government for equitable development of all the regions and ensure socio economic upliftment of the people.
The Minister was addressing a public gathering at Village Gurwal in District Samba today.
The Minister said that the construction work on various developmental projects taken up at a cost of Rs 50 lakh are apace in the Gurwal village and on completion, these projects will ensure better facilities to the people of the area.
On the occasion, People apprised the Minister about their demands including black topping of road along with side drainage, shed at road connectivity towards Shamshan Ghar and many more alike. The Minister heard them patiently and assured that whatever has been brought into his notice will be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. He also issued on spot direction to the concerned officers for the redressal of genuine demands of the people.
Reiterating the commitment of the government for overall development of the State the Minister said that focus is on upgradation and expansion of basic infra to provide all amenities to the people and sought their co-operation in implementing the development programs at the ground level.
The Minister also inspected the pending works under different schemes and asked the officers of concerned departments to gear up their men and machinery so that the works are completed in fixed timelines.
