Ganga launches IPPI at Samba

SAMBA: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash today administered polio drops to young children at CHC Vijaypur and Saroore Adda as part of ongoing Pulse polio immunization programme in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasised the importance of campaign due to recurring cases in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. He appreciated the role of Health department functionaries, NGO’s, Rotary club and other supporting organizations in eradicating polio from the country.

At Samba District Hospital, the programme was inaugurated by MLA Samba Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal.

CMO samba, Dr Seema Gupta   informed that 330 polio booths were established across the district in which 1320 vaccinators actively participated and 37839 children were vaccinated against a target of 48539.
