Gang of burglars busted, 5 arrested

JAMMU, Feb 23: Chenani police busted gang of burglars with the arrest of five members of the gang along with stolen cash and articles worth several thousands.
As per police sources, a team from Chenani police station busted a gang of thieves by arresting five persons.
The accused have been identified as Joginder Kumar, son of Hari Ram, Rajinder Kumar, son of Khem Raj, Nek Raj, son of Charan Dass, all residents of Pattangarh, Ashok Kumar, son of Papu and Prem Chand, son of Chat Ram, both residents of Chajj.
On their disclosure, police recovered stolen Rs 8770 and a mobile phone worth Rs 2000.
A case under FIR Number 13/16 under Section 457 and 380 RPC has been registered against them and further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Chenani police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma and SI Manoj Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma, Additional SP Udhampur Mohan Lal Kaith and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
