Gandotra meets Director MMHS

JAMMU, Feb 12: President of Jammu Heritage Society, Bhuvneshwar Gandotra today met Deepika Sharma, Director Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society (MMHS) and submitted a memorandum to be forwarded to the LG, Manoj Sinha.
Gandotra suggested that a toy train or a tram should be started from Bikram Chowk to Suchetgarh on the existing road corridor as it shall avoid seeking clearance from urban department.
He also said that two heritage rail engines should be placed one each at Kala Kendra and Suchetgarh Border in the short run as an attraction.
The Director gave detailed analysis on the progress of development of Mubarak Mandi and also said that proposal has been submitted for a multi-tier parking at Poonch House for Mubarak Mandi.
Gandotra said that heritage buildings from Poonch House to Mandi complex be maintained and heritage type lights should be provided en-route besides temples be showcased as religious heritage.
On illumination of outer wall of Mubarak Mandi it was informed that the project stands taken up under smart city and process has started.
Gandotra demanded shifting of Archives and Dogra Art Museum to Kala Kendra so that it becomes a place of attraction for tourists.
