JAMMU, Nov 5: Minister for Housing, Culture and Horticulture Raman Bhalla today said that Gandhi Nagar constituency has witnessed large scale development in all fronts during the last six years.
Minister said this, while addressing public meetings in Dongia and Sia Mohallas of Bhatindi and Jawahar Nagar area of Satwari in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
He said that Congress party is fighting the elections on the plank of development, adding that Congress party’s main attention was for up-gradation of the basic facilities and infrastructural of various priorities like quality education, water and power supply, better medical health care facilities for the benefit of the people.
He appealed to the public to strengthen the Congress party in the best interest of the people of the State and Gandhi Nagar constituency in particular.
Bhalla said that it was his endeavor to develop the Gandhi Nagar on modern lines and a model constituency in the State. For translating this dream, into reality, he sought people’s support for another stint.
“There is no alternate to the Congress Party as during the period of this party, the country and State has progressed steadfastly in all sectors. The party has multi-pronged planning and strategy to deal with the issues of unemployment, poverty, upliftment of weaker sections of the society”, Minister added.
The programmes and policies of the Congress party are people friendly and millions of poor people have availed benefits of various schemes launched by Congress party, said the Minister and asked the people to compare his tenure as representative of the Gandhi Nagar constituency with previous 50 years and make the difference themselves on ground.
He claimed that massive development has taken place in all sectors in various areas of the Constituency and entire picture is changed. He said the tempo of development will continue, provided the people support and strengthen the Congress party and his candidature, he added.
