Gandhi Nagar being developed as model constituency: Kavinder

JAMMU, Dec 28: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavin-der Gupta today called upon the people to extend cooperation to the Government in making Gandhi Nagar a ‘model constituency’ for the rest of the State.
Speaker stated this while addressing the locals at Bikram Nagar, Gadigarh, where he listened to the problems of the people. He informed the locals that funds to the tune over Rs 2 crore have been released under ERA for construction of a deep drain from Karan Bagh to Chatha Morh and Rs 6.75 lakh have been released to R&B for improving drainage.
Speaker also spoke about the various initiatives taken by the Government for the welfare of the people. He said Central schemes like SABLA, Jan Dhan Yojna, Ladli Beti, Swachh Bharat, DDUGJY and State sponsored schemes of Ladli Beti and Aasraa are being implemented in the State and these schemes will prove immensely beneficial in changing the socio-economic profile of the people.
Similarly, Government has placed high priority on education and health sector and several reform measures have been introduced to bring efficiency and expand these sectors via institutions like AIIMS, IIT, IIM, IIHM etc, he said.
Mr Gupta urged people to participate in the development initiates launched in the constituency. He reiterated his commitment to ensure that constituency develops on modern lines with all facilities available to the people.
