JAMMU, Jan 22: Advisors to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai and K Vijay Kumar today flagged off the batch of 200 students of class 8th to 10th for exposure tour to Agra.
The programme is being organized by Directorate of Samagra Shiksha J&K under Student Exchange Programme. Students from 10 districts of Kashmir Division are part of the Maitri Yatra to know the rich cultural heritage, educational prospects and to have friends in schools and buddies across the country to strengthen the bond of relationship and to share the knowledge, information and expertise.
On the occasion, the Advisors interacted with the students and teachers and gave best wishes to them for safe journey. They also asked to them that to maintain discipline during the tour and to adopt precautionary measures while traveling.
The state has also planned to send 9000 students in the batch size of 250 students/escort teachers seven days to the states of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and UT Chandigarh. The possibility of Student Exchange Programme with other States is also being explored.
During the month of December, a batch of 605 students have visited Haryana, Karnataka and Chandigarh during the current month of January 2019 about 1000 students have been planned out of which visit of 550 students is in progress in Delhi and Bengaluru.
On the occasion, Secretary School Education, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Project Director Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Arun Kumar Manhas and other senior officers were also present.
