Sir,
It is extremely shocking to note that a 23 year old girl was gang raped, beaten severely then stripped and thrown out of a moving bus in the Union Capital . It has sent shivers down the spine the citizen of the country.
As the girl is struggling between life and death in a local hospital in Delhi, there has been national outrage over this most reprehensible act. Thousands of people throughout the country including J&K are aghast over this gruesome act and are demanding capital punishment for culprit.
The need of the hour is to repeal the old act passed in 1882 and enact a new stringent law for immediate trial and ultimately death penalty for the rapist.
It is indeed a national shame and Union Govt must think actively over this grave issue and initiate the process for enactment of stringent law in the near future so that these six accused and others of their ilk can be put on a speedy trial and finally sent to gallows. The sooner it is done, the better it is.
Yours etc….
