JAMMU, May 17: Galgotias University has recently received the prestigious NBA (National Board of Accreditation) accreditation.
The courses which have been accorded the accreditation are—Computer Science, Electronics and Communication and Mechanical Engineering.
A handout stated that the accreditation was accorded on the basis of academic excellence, remarkable placement and advance research facilities.
The NBA team visited the campus to examine educational quality, placement opportunities and research capabilities of the University. Very few private educational institutions in the country have been able to fulfill the NBA criteria.
Galgotias University has been doing well when it comes to placement in Management and Engineering programmes. More than 91 per cent of students of the varsity have been recruited by various organizations.
The students pursuing accredited courses have better chances of getting good job offers. NBA accreditation also makes students eligible for various Central and State Governments scholarships as they are open only for accredited courses. Students pursuing accredited courses are also preferred for admission to PG courses in foreign universities.
“This will open the doors for the university to 20+ countries under Washington accord where accreditation such as NBA is acknowledged,” informed Galgotias University VC, Dr Preeti Bajaj.
