Gagandeep Kang, Virander Chauhan get Stratfirst Lifetime Achievement Award

JAMMU, May 6: Dr Gagandeep Kang and Dr Virander Singh Chauhan have been conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award by StratFirst India in recognition to their achievements.
Dr Gagandeep Kang is the first Indian woman scientist elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society while Dr Virander Singh Chauhan has been awarded for achievements in science and institutional leadership.
The award was presented by Professor Amitabh Mattoo, Chair of the Mentor Group of Stratfirst India and Nancy Jain, CEO Stratfirst India.
StratFirst India is a private initiative to promote excellence in teaching and research, particularly amongst institutions of higher learning in India.
Stratfirst works with institutions of higher learning, in the private sector and public sector, to position India as a global brand in the Knowledge Sector. Stratfirst is working to ensure that at least 50 Indian Universities or deemed Universities are ranked in the top 500 institutions globally.
Those present on the occasion, included Dr Harsha Vardhana Singh, former Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization; Dr D P Singh, Chairman UGC; Prof Yogesh Tyagi, VC Delhi University; Prof R C Kuhad, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana; Prof Ashok Aima, VC of Central University Jammu; Prof Manoj Dhar, VC, University of Jammu; Prof Mehraj-ud-Din, VC Central University Kashmir; Trustee of Navchetna; Naveen Chawla, former S K Sopory VC JNU and top civil servants, academician and intellectuals.
