Gadkari, Sonia to attend Mufti’s ‘fateha’

JAMMU, Jan 9: Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari and AICC (I) president Sonia Gandhi are visiting Kashmir tomorrow to attend ‘congregational fateha’ of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
After attending the ceremony, Gadkari, joined by BJP leaders Dr Nirmal Singh, Sat Sharma, CA, State president of the party and Shamsher Singh Manhas, MP will meet PDP president Mehbooba Mufti to discuss next Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
While Gadkari will directly reach Srinagar from New Delhi, Dr Nirmal Singh, Sat Sharma and Manhas will reach Srinagar from Jammu.
Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, is also visiting Srinagar tomorrow to offer condolences to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on the demise of her father and former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Pradesh Congress Commit-tee (JKPCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir said here: “Sonia ji is scheduled to visit Srinagar tomorrow to offer condolence to Mehbooba ji.”
Mir said the Congress president would visit the Gupkar residence in the afternoon and meet Mehbooba. “For 11 years Mufti saab was the Congress president in the state. He did leave Congress and joined Janata Dal and later formed PDP, but we again formed an alliance with PDP (in 2002). Sonia ji knows the family for a long time now, so she wants to offer her condolences in person.”
