Gadkari approves Rs 1337 cr for Akhnoor highway

JAMMU, July 6: Union Minister for Road, Transport and National Highways Nitin Gadkari today approved Rs 1337.51 crore for Jammu-Akhnoor section of the National Highway.
This is the third major approval of budgetary outlay for construction works in Jammu and Kashmir by Gadkari’s Ministry.
Rs 1337.51 crore have been approved for upgradation to 4-lane with paved shoulder of Jammu-Akhnoor section of National Highway-144.
The Union Minister announced budgetary outlay through a couple of tweets.
“The project for up gradation to 4-lane with paved shoulder of Jammu-Akhnoor section of National Highway-144 has been approved at a total cost of Rs 1337.51 crore. This stretch starts from 4th Tawi bridge and end at Hanuman Chowk with a total distance of 31 kilometre in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” Gadkari said through tweets.
Soon after Gadkari’s announcement, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha welcomed the decision.
“Grateful to Union Minister for Road, Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari for his approval of up gradation of Jammu-Akhnoor section of NH-144. The project would prove to be a boon for the residents,” Sinha tweeted.
