UDHAMPUR, Apr 13: The All Jammu and Kashmir Gaddi Sabha commemorated its 44th Foundation Day with a grand celebration, here today.
The event brought together community leaders, administrative officials, and local representatives to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and discuss the future developmental roadmap for the Gaddi community in the Union Territory.
The milestone event was marked by a series of cultural performances and high-level discussions regarding tribal welfare and socio-economic empowerment.
The foundation day was graced by a prominent panel of guests, including Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Chenani; Dr Sunil Bhardwaj, MLA Ramnagar; Jeewan Lal Lalhal, former MLA Bani; Amit Sharma, Chief Principal Census Officer, J&K UT & Ladakh UT; Pinky Devi, former DDC Latti Marothi and Subhash Chander, former DDC Narsoo.
The speakers lauded the Gaddi Sabha for its 44 years of tireless service in preserving the unique identity of the tribe.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and Dr Sunil Bhardwaj emphasized the Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and educational facilities in the remote regions inhabited by the community. Amit Sharma provided valuable insights into the importance of accurate census documentation to ensure that the benefits of Central and UT-level schemes reach every household in J&K and Ladakh.
On the occasion, Dr Vijay Sujan, Dr Mohinder Singh, Manjit Kumar (Gold medallist in shotput), Pawan, Ajit Shamsher, Samiksha Devi, Amit Kumar SI, Varun , Abikash, Meenakshi Danar , Sanjeev ,Ranjit , Aditya Barsain , Rajesh, Rohit , Gorkh Nath Harillu, Bishan Dass Singer, Kapil Singh Sujan , Sakshi NEET, Pushpa NEET were awarded for their achievements, A colourful program was presented by Bishan Dass singer, Gorkh Nath Harillu Gaddyali folk artist and other local singers.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Kuldeep Kumar ( President Youth All J&K Gaddi Sabha), Ashok Malkan , SP Danar, Dr Sanjay, Kewal Krishan, Rakesh Singh, Dr Romesh , Ramparkash, Jia Lal, Romesh Chander Warden, Parshotam Lal , Subash Chandra, Pinki Devi, Tirath Ram, Romesh and Vijay Kumar. The formal proceedings wrapped up with a vote of thanks presented by B K Charak, Founder Member of the Sabha.
