JAMMU, Mar 9: Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjars and Bakerwals, Ch Zaffer Ali today reviewed the functioning of G&B Hostels at an officers meeting.
Secretary of the Corporation briefed the Chairman about the activities of the organization.
The meeting was informed that presently the Board is running 14 Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostels in Jammu Division wherein 1350 inmates are getting education. It was told that several decisions were taken which include enhancement of charges under diet and other allied items.
Rs. 313.685 lakh have been released to the Advisory Board during current financial year while Rs. 171.43 lakh stands released to the G&B Hostels of the Division so far, the meeting was informed.
It was also given out that the Tribal Affairs Department has released Rs.176 lakh for construction, repairs & renovation of G&B Hostels of J&K.
Vice Chairman while going through the performance of the wardens, directed to take necessary steps for improving the academic standard of the inmates of the hostels besides providing quality diet as per the fixed scale,
He instructed Wardens to ensure full attendance of all the employees of the hostel round the clock besides installation of Bio-Metric system of attendance at an earliest for the purposes.
