Fukki recovered in Budgam, Baramulla: 2 held

Srinagar, July 24: Police today said that it recovered a large quantity of Fukki in Budgam and Baramulla district and detained two persons.
A police spokesman said that on a tip off, the police intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AD-6027 at Nambalhar village of Kremshore in Khansahaba area of Budgam district. “On its checking, police recovered 13 bags of Fukki. Two persons who were travelling in the vehicle were taken into custody,” he said, adding that they have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Wani and Shakeel Ahmad Bhat.
“A case under FIR number 67/17 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation has been taken up,” the spokesman said, adding following a tip off, police raided a residential house at Goshbugh at Pattan in Baramulla district and recovered huge quantity of Fukki. A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is on, he added.
Meanwhile, police said that it destroyed huge bhang cultivation near Kachkoot village of Awantipora in Pulwama district. “The locals of the area also participated in the drive. The locals of the area have appreciated the police drive,” the police spokesman added.
