Fresh warning for flash flood, landslides on Srinagar-Jammu highway

SRINAGAR: A fresh warning for flash flood and landslides and shooting stones on Srinagar-Jammu national highway has been issued on Tuesday, where there could be scattered light to moderate rain thundershowers over both the regions of the Union Territory (UT) during the next 24 hours.

A Met department spokesman said on Monday evening that there could be isolated to heavy rain and thundershowers in the Kashmir valley and Jammu region during the next 72 hours. However, weather will remain mainly dry in UT of Ladakh.

He said due to impact of this weather there is possibility of flash flood, landslides and shooting stone on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, during the next 24 hours. (AGENCIES)
