Fresh Chinese offensive blunted

While China yet again has treacherously attempted to alter the status -quo position on the southern bank of Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh, both the countries continued to hold military level talks, to ease the position on the Line of Control (LAC) as the one held yesterday yielded no positive results . At the outset, it can be safely assumed that ever since China opened its bag of doing series of mischief on the LAC especially in Ladakh, say nearly four months ago, it has been claiming to ”diffuse and settle the situation” through bi-lateral talks but side by side, it has been strengthening its troop deployment and upping its border activities creating troubles and attempting to alter the existing position on the 3500 km long Line of Actual Control. It is reported that PLA troops carried out provocative movements at Pangong Tso Lake on the intervening night of 29/30 August. India, not only has strengthened its positions, accessed more heights of strategic importance but also blunted the fresh Chinese offensive. With this act of provocation , again carried out during the night like in Galwan, Chinese soldiers have had to taste all bitter at the hands of the Indian side. India has reinforced its strength at strategic points of Rezang La and Rikin La in Chuchul so that China may not repeat its unwarranted and totally hostile activities.
It may be recalled that the Indian Army is adequately matching the heavy weapon posturing of the Chinese troops and is assertively preventing China to move into dominating heights of Pangong Tso. Indian troops are all poised to repel any fresh Chinese aggression along the LAC in Ladakh. While on account of the intermittent aggressive actions of China which include deployment of J-20 long range fighter jets and many key ”assets” in sensitively located Hotan airbase, deployment of PLA troops at fresh locations, the situation is dire which could also result into a possibility of an escalation. Indian Air Force has been told to enhance its surveillance on increasing Chinese activities while the IAF has deployed almost all its frontline fighter jet aircraft like Sukhoi 30 MKI, Jaguar and Mirage 2000 in key frontline airbases in eastern Ladakh and elsewhere along the LAC.
Galwan incident has made India wiser and no further chances of relying on the feigned ”settling disputes through talks” by China resulted in thwarting fresh attempts of aggressive postures of China by more alert Indian Army at Pongong Tso Lake. However, with intent to diffuse the situation ,military to military and diplomatic level channels are open between the two countries and if there is any grain of positive hope, that lies squarely in these de-escalation oriented and aimed channels. This is despite the five rounds of military commander level talks that have failed and resulted nothing positive primarily and wholly due to Chinese un-relying and wavering stands. The fresh Chinese brazen bids to alter status quo positions have definitely cast long dark shadows on whatever progress was made in these bilateral talks. China has to ensure that these Channels are not rendered infructuous as that would mean adversely impacting bilateral ties which China, which due to the peculiar global scenario , it can least afford. That has further to be seen in the context of that country finding India firm and all in ”readiness”. Today’s India is capable , strong and unhesitant to be prepared to face even the ultimate to emerge triumphant.
