Fresh avalanche warning in J&K

SRINAGAR, Mar 16: A fresh avalanche warning has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir, where light rain or snow could occur at isolated places during next 24 hours.
An official spokesman said on Friday evening that on the basis of information received from SASE, medium- danger avalanche warning has been issued for next 24 hours for Kupwara-Chowkibal-Tanghdar, Baramulla, Gulmarg, Furkian-Z Gali, Gurez, Kargil.
Low danger warning has been issued for Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban,Doda, Kishtwar Udhampur, Anantnag, Kulgam, Budgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Leh districts and the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
People living in these avalanche-prone areas have been advised by the Disaster Management Authority to take precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, a MeT department spokesman said that there could be light rain or snow at isolated places in the State during the next 24 hours.
