RAMBAN, Mar 23: The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was disrupted for several hours near Ramban due to frequent falling of boulders and shooting stone from the hillock during the whole day today.
Official sources said that due to restrictions in view of COVID-19, already the movement of public transportation has been restricted. Only load carriers with essential supplies and the oil and LPG tankers are allowed to move towards Kashmir. The frequent shooting stones and falling of boulders near Cafeteria Morh where highway widening work is going on, disrupted the smooth movement of vehicles for several hours.
With this disruption, traffic jams were also created but the police and traffic cops managed the traffic movement. The National Highway authorities have already cleared bottlenecks during last two days which used to create traffic jams at the narrow patches of land sliding zones in Ramban sector.
