Freights up on less availability of trucks

NEW DELHI, Sept 21:  Freight rates for nine tonne load for the select destinations improved by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following increased movements of cargo along with the tight position of trucks.

Transporters said that less availability of trucks against the better cargo movements, mainly pushed up freights.

Capital to Mumbai, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 31,000, Rs 33,000 and Rs 82,000, respectively.

Rates to Ludhiana and Kanpur also rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 22,000 and Rs 23,000.
