NEW DELHI, June 13: Freight rates for the nine-tonne pay load section improved by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following pickup in cargo movements against tight availability of trucks.
Transporters said busy cargo movements in the wake of tight truck positions, mainly led to rise in freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Ludhiana, Kanpur and Indore freight rates were up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 18,000, Rs 21,000, Rs 23,000, respectively.
Rates to Ahmedabad, Baroda, Patna and Surat also rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000, Rs 27,000, Rs 28,000 and Rs 27,000, respectively.
Kolkata and Mumbai rates too went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 32,000 and Rs 28,000, respectively.
