NEW DELHI, June 10: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section were higher by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following tight availability of trucks against cargo movements.
Transporters said besides pick up in cargo movements, tight position of trucks in the market mainly, led to rise in freight rates for some destinations.
Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 85,000 and Rs 61,000.
Rates to Ludhiana, Indore and Ahmedabad also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 23,000.
Meanwhile, rates for other centres were unchanged.
