NEW DELHI, Mar 19: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following increased cargo movements against less position of trucks.
Transporters said besides good cargo movements, tight availability of trucks mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Chennai and Mysore freight moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 63,000 and Rs 66,000.
Bengaluru and Goa freight also went up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 61,000 and Rs 52,000.
Also, rates to Jaipur and Chandigarh asked higher by Rs 500 each at Rs 15,000 and Rs 17,000.
