NEW DELHI, May 7: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following easy availability of trucks amid restricted cargo movements.
Transporters said comfortable position of trucks against slowdown in cargo movements, mainly pulled down freight rates.
Delhi to Indore, Ahmedabad and Baroda freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 22,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 23,000.
Rates to Surat, Mumbai and Kolkatta also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 26,000, Rs 27,000 and Rs 32,000.
