Freight rates fall on excess availability of trucks

NEW DELHI, Aug 16: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations dropped by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess availability of trucks in the market.
Marketmen said easy availability of trucks against restricted cargo movements contributed to the fall in freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Mysore, Pondicherry and Coimbatore rates were down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 68,000, Rs 67,000 and Rs 70,000, respectively.
Rates to Jaipur, Chandigarh and Bangalore also moved down by Rs 500 each to Rs 18,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 64,000, respectively.
