NEW DELHI, May 10: Freight rates for 10-tonne pay load section to select destinations rose up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today largely on the back of increased cargo movements against tight position of trucks.
Transporters said besides thin availability of trucks in the markets, increased arrivals of cargo mainly led to rise in freight rates for some centres.
Delhi to Coimbatore and Chennai rates went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 75,000 and Rs 69,000.
Rates to Patna and Baroda also moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 30,000 and Rs 27,000.
