NEW DELHI, Mar 4: Freight rates for nine-metric tonne pay load section for select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following increased arrivals of cargo amid tight position of trucks.
Transporters said pick up in cargo movements and tight position of trucks mainly led to rise in freight rates for few centres.
Delhi to Indore, Kolkata and Puducherry freight rates went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 71,000.
Rates to Coimbatore, Kochi and Goa also moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 75,000, Rs 78,000 and Rs 56,000.
