POONCH, Nov 19: A free artificial limb fitment camp was organized by Durga battalion under the aegis of Poonch and Pritam Spiritual Trust which concluded today.
The camp was inaugurated by Brig N S Brar, Commander Poonch Brigade. Major General Saranjeet Singh, GOC, Rajouri Division distributed the artificial limbs in presence of an august gathering of civilian dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Maj General Saranjeet Singh said “as every physically challenged sufferer has the right to be gainfully employed and rehabilitated the artificial limb fitment camp brings dignity of life to many who have remained crippled for life”.
The beneficiaries came from far flung areas including Shahpur, Jandrola, Khari, Salotri, Gagriyan, Bani, Chechia, Saujian, Kasba, Degwar Maldian and other adjoining areas.
A team of six technicians were called in from Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti (Kota, Rajasthan) to fabricate the limbs.
