JAMMU, July 17: Police station Gandhi Nagar recovered a huge tranche of stolen property with the arrest of four accused.
Addressing a press conference here today, SP City South, Vinay Sharma said that in order to work out the burglary/theft cases of Jammu South area, a team of police station Gandhi Nagar led by Inspector Gurnam Singh Choudhary, SHO police station Gandhi Nagar was constituted.

The officer said that during the course of investigation, several witnesses were examined and evidence examined. Based on the leads developed during investigation, three persons were apprehended, namely Anil Singh son of Prem Singh, resident of Sangad Ransoo (Reasi), Kuldeep Singh son of Karnail Singh, resident of Ballian (Sunderbani) and Sharan Singh alias Sunny son of Satish, resident of Ward No 10 Rajouri, in relation to a case FIR No 161/2019 and 231/2018 of police station Gandhi Nagar.
“Based on their disclosure, 24 tolas of gold ornaments worth about Rs 8.40 lakh, stolen by them in case FIR No 100/2019 under Section 457/380 RPC of police station Gandhi Nagar, were recovered,” the SP said, adding, further the same team apprehended another accused namely Raj Kumar son of Munshi Ram, resident of Dima Majalta (Udhampur) in course of investigation in case FIR No 165/2019.
He said that on disclosure of Raj Kumar, 4 stolen truck tyres with rims, valuing about Rs 1.40 lakh, were recovered. In addition to this, one stolen Alto K10 Car bearing registration number JK02BW-1929, valuing about Rs 3.50 lakh, in case FIR No 186/2019 under Section 379 RPC of police station Gandhi Nagar, was also recovered by the team.
Further investigation is underway, the officer added.
