Four protestors injured in police lathicharge at Vijaypur

SAMBA, Sept 7: Four protestors including two women of village Barian were injured in police lathicharge today at Vijaypur who were agitating against the failure of authorities to provide compensation to them for damaged crops , houses and other property due to heavy rains and flash floods.
The protestors blocked the Jammu- Pathankote National Highway for over one hour and protested against the authorities. Meanwhile, the policemen who had reached there in civil clothes resorted to lathicharge on protesting mob. However this provoked the agitating people who indulged in stone pelting on police. Some vehicles were also damaged in stone pelting.
Four protestors also received injuries in lathicharge.
The injured were identified as Rano Devi, Manjeet Kour, Jageer Singh, Darshan Singh etc.
The people have demanded action again the policemen in civil clothes who lathicharged the peaceful protestors.
