Four drug peddlers arrested with contraband

JAMMU, June 19: Nagrota, Chanderkote, Nehru Market and Gool Police arrested four drug peddlers along with contraband.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Nagrota laid a naka and apprehended a drug peddler with 120 grams cannabis.
The arrested person was identified as Noor Ahmed, son of Saif Ali of Behra Jagti.
A case under FIR Number 282/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
The arrest and recovery was made by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Chanderkote led by SHO Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary and assisted by PSI Aasif Abdullah Sheikh laid a naka and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK08H-9949.
During checking, police team recovered 5 grams heroin and arrested the driver of the car, who was identified as Mohammad Rafi, son of Feroz Din of Kunfer, Chanderkote District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 70/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation initiated.
SSP Ramban PD Nitya has appealed to the public to support police in its drive against the drugs in district Ramban. These drugs are spoiling the future of our nation and it is our collective responsibility to eradicate this menace from the society, she added.
However, a team from Police Post Nehru Market led by SI Rohit Gandhi under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bharat Sharma laid a naka at Bikram Chowk and intercepted a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK02AS-7202.
During checking, police team recovered 22.500 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested owner of the vehicle, who was identified as Mohammad Rafi, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of District Reasi. The driver of the vehicle on seeing police cops managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 192/21 under Section 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Gool headed by HC Mohammad Sadiq under the supervision of SHO Gool Inspector Muneer Ahmed laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AT-3859.
During checking, police team recovered 95 grams cannabis from the possession of one person and arrested him.
The accused was identified as Shoaib Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shan of Jamman Gool.
A case under FIR Number 56/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gool and investigation set into motion.
