RAMBAN, July 18: Police here today has arrested four absconders three of whom were evading arrest since last 24 years and one since the last 11 years.
The arrests were made possible by a special team constituted by SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar as General Warrants of Arrest were issued against the absconders by the Court.
Cops from Police Station Ramban with meticulous efforts arrested the absconders Firoz Ahmed, son of Gulam Rasool, from Kulgam, he was involved in a case of FIR No. 177/2000 Under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act; Faiz Ulla, son of Abdulla Wani, from Kulgam; Gh Nabi, son of Ghulam Qadir Wani, from Kulgam, both were involved in FIR No. 77/2000 U/S 279/427 RPC and Sonu, son of Karan Singh, from Palampura, Kulgam, involved in FIR No. 73/2013 Under Sections 279/337/338 RPC.
It is pertinent to mention here that Parveen Kumar, son of Daleep Singh, of Teli Bagwara, Hamirpur, HP was involved in FIR No. 92/2011 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act, was found to have passed away; hence, the search for him was closed upon verification of his death certificate and the report was submitted to the Court.
The arrested absconders were produced before the Court for further legal proceedings.
